InvenSense, a TDK Group company, is a world-leading provider of sensor solutions, including MEMS and magnetic sensors for consumer, industrial, and automotive applications. Founded in 2003, InvenSense has a 20+ year history of patented sensor technology across Motion, Sound and Ultrasonic solutions, including the invention of the 6-axis IMU. We are dedicated to enabling partner success and enhancing lives through sustainable sensor innovation.

Enabling partner success with world-class sensing solutions

Our solutions integrate MEMS (micro electrical mechanical systems) sensors—such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, compasses, microphones, and ultrasonic time-of-flight sensors—with proprietary algorithms and firmware that intelligently process, synthesize, and calibrate the output of sensors, maximizing performance and accuracy.

Our motion tracking, ultrasonic, audio, and location platforms and services are ideal solutions for many applications, including Smartphones, Wearables, Hearables, Smart Home, AR/VR, Gaming, Drones, Industrial, Automotive, Robotics, and a wide variety of IoT devices.

Our MEMS sensors are known to be best-in-class for reasons including:

  • High performance and reliability
  • High-volume manufacturing capacity and supply stability
  • Ongoing hardware and software innovation
  • Ultra-low power consumption

Over time, the InvenSense sensor portfolio has grown by entering new markets and via strategic mergers and acquisitions.

For more information on InvenSense products, see SmartMotion, SmartSonic, SmartSound, SmartAutomotive, and SmartIndustrial.

Enhancing lives through sustainable sensor innovation

We continue to drive innovation for MEMS sensor technology by:

  • Having shipped more than 500 million of our 6th generation IMUs and TMR technology
  • Having enhanced cameras, navigation, and absolute orientation detection in smartphones
  • Producing functional safety rated automotive IMUs for stability control or ADAS systems
  • Offering on-chip machine learning with SmartEdgeML
  • Delivering the lowest-power high-SNR microphone

InvenSense became part of the MEMS Sensors Business Group within the Sensor Systems Business Company of TDK Corporation in 2017. TDK Corporation, a world leader in electronic solutions for the smart society, is based in Tokyo, Japan.

We are headquartered in San Jose, California and have offices in Boston, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, France, Canada, Slovakia, and Italy.
